3800-0100

The main body of the extensometer is held stationary by an adjustable magnetic base and the light traveling heads are attached to the sample with small spring clips. Each head pulls a cord as it moves. Special high precision potentiometers measure travel. The unit requires an excitation voltage to be provided (optional) and generates a proportional output for data acquisition systems and chart recorders. The unit takes ~ 10 grams to operate. Linearity is 0.15% for these tension-only units.
