The ASTM D3330 peel test helps assess uniformity of the adhesion of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, either within a roll of tape, between rolls, or between production lots.

The most common method is to measure adherence by peeling a sample at a 180° angle from a standard steel panel or a specific surface of interest. D3330 applies to single-coated tape, the backing of a single-coated tape, double-coated tapes, the release liner to the adhesive of single- or double-coated tapes, and adhesive transfer tape.
